Hi Snakenlisken. Mike is right I bought them directly from Bilstein Germany but they were a little more expensive. I don't remeber the exact price but it was something around 420€ for 4 Shocks.

I found that on the German Bilstein page:

ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Suspension GmbH Ennepetal, Deutschland August-Bilstein-Straße 4
58256 Ennepetal
Tel: +49 (0) 23 33 / 7 91-0
Fax: +49 (0) 23 33 / 7 91-49 00
E-Mail: info@bilstein.de

I called Bilstein and ordered them by phone.

There is a german Bilstein-web-shop aswell but you cannot order the C5 shocks through it
but der is a Hotline Phone number which you can also try : 01805 / 600 860,

Good luck

Toby

Hi snake,

i bought mine during my last vacation in Florida. I payed 300 US$ shipped (which calculates to only 250 Euro).

Hello Jochen

I know that they are very cheap in the US but the shipping and VAT in Sweden is 25% makes it almost the double. The reason I wanted to buy it from germany was. I dont need to pay swedish VAT since we are in the EU.

Yep, that is always the problem when ordering in the usa. Some people seemed to find a (maybe illegal), but cheap way to get around VAT and reduce shipping . . . Kopfschütteln
I would not consider that.
I dont know how often you are in the states, or if you have friends in the usa who could assist you in buying parts there for your car (you can reduce shipping, tax and custom dramatically in getting some help from us residence - legally !).
If you plan to make vacation there, make a "wishlist" and be happy to go shopping there for your car . . .its like in wonderland !
What the BMW and VW guys have here in germany is the USA for us corvette guys Großes Grinsen

Hi Klapperschlange,
when I was looking for new shocks, I went to a local wholeseller, but these guys were asking €700.- minus discount for a set of 4 FE1 shocks. Bilstein confirmed the price and I was pretty pissed, because Bilstein USA has a link to Ecklers, where they are asking $300.-for the same set.
Remebering that theUS guys always talked about refurbishing their original shocks, I asked some guys at shipping and indeed Bilstein Germany is offering the same service. For a total of €225.- I had’m all redone, even with the stronger setting of Z51
performance shocks.
If you are interested, let me know.
