i´m not sure, if your trip will bring you through Baden-Württemberg. If not, you have to change your route! We have the most beautiful landscape, the best cars, world famoust beer and wine, the hottest girls (ok, forget the girls ), almost the best food and lovely, romantic castles:

on the 15th of august we celebrate our national holiday (birthday of the old prince) and the whole country (plus half of europe) will be in the capital vaduz.

and there will be world famous fireworks:

I do not know the route yet, but I will try to visit. PN me with contact information and I will have it to put a dot on my map. I only put the town...not address. Once I know most of the visit locations, I can plan a route that will take me near as many as possible.

Hi Jack,

you know that fuel is about 8 Dollar a gallon in Europe?
The liter is about 2,20 Dollar at the moment in Germany.

Just for info.
But its worth to visit old Europe.

Hello,

Yes petrol will be the most expensive part of the budget. I am using the figure of $1 US Dollar per mile in my car to cover fuel and service for 10.000 kilometers or 6.000 miles.

I hope to work with German Corvette Vendors to help with the cost my my trip in this part of Europe. To drive some of the roads and visit historic places in my car and sharing that experience with others , not able to travel .....to meet in person all the owners who have been so kind to me on this forum.

I was in Europe 40 years ago......with a VW 36 hp........Europe on $10 a day......now I may have a corvette .......still only have $10 a day after petrol........

If it comes true, we are doing a similar meet as we´ve done when the StClara Club Members from California visited us.
Hope your schedule allows it.
That was not far away in the city of Paderborn, where we (the local Vette People) have our monthly Meet
in the american diner "Road House".

Look here.
Can´t promise now, but accomodation and service for the Vette will be more than possible.

I though you may be interested in the cost of driving my car on my last long trip. It will be interesting to compare to my trip through Europe.

The following are running cost for my trip to all 48 states in the summer / fall of 2010

327/350 L79 engine .060 over 300,000 miles on original engine new rebuild for trip

Stock Holly 4 bl.

Original drive train 3.70 rear and M20 wide ratio Muncie

All continuous 48 states driven through

Start in Cape Elizabeth Maine and Finish in Cape Elizabeth ME

08/02/2010 to 10/29/2010

Total Miles driven 19,284

Total Gallons of Gas used 1,222

Miles per Gallon 15.7

Total Cost Gas $ 3,822

Average Price/Gal $ 3.11


As you can see , gas is much less per gallon then Europe, but the mileage that I will travel will be 60 % less

Shipping will be a big cost also

It will be fun to price it all out.....no fun to pay it out.....

But as the say (US TV) " The Experience " " Priceless "
