Dear bluewasp,
the racetrack is definitely not in Germany.
The green guardrails and the special shaped skittles are typically English.
It seems the pics were taken on GM’s own proving-ground and test-center in Great Britain.
The covers on the back of the mule should hide the new understanding of GM’s shortness. The C6 will be more than one foot shorter; with this kind of double-bubble Hardtop and a very short overhang at the front.
Front lights will be a fixed construction with some kind of plexi-cover because in Europe starting in 2006 the old concealing pop-up headlamps will be not allowed anymore. GM is interested (and in charge!) to raise the sales in Old Europe dramatically.
Rear Lights will be oval with corners (whatever that means).
In the first year you will get a 6-liter displacement engine with 415 HP (in Europe 403 HP). Available in model year 2005 is a 6-speed on the floor and the known 4-speed Automatique. In 2006 the auto will be replaced with a totally new 6 speed Auto.
The new Z06 comes in 2006 with 450 HP and – first time – officially to Europe.
Interior will be much better quality as known – and –
the price tag will rise for ten of hundred. But this should be not new.
