Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us and for giving us the opportunity to
assist you with your query.
I understand that you are writing because you want to know if the vehicle that
you will purchase will be covered under warranty even if you will transport it
in Germany. I am more than happy to assist you with your request.
The warranty for the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette is for 36 months or 36,000 miles,
whichever comes first, beginning on the original delivery date. This covers
manufacturer defects in materials or workmanship. Other components carry
specific warranties based on state and federal law.
The new vehicle limited warranty applies to General Motors vehicles registered
in the United States and normally operated in the United States or Canada. If
you have permanently relocated and established household residency in another
country, GM may authorize the performance of repairs under the U.S. warranty in
the country where you will be at.
Just in case that you will be having concerns with the vehicle, we recommend
that you contact an authorized GM dealer in Germany for assistance. The GM
dealership in Germany may require you to pay for the repair. If that happens,
you may submit the original repair invoice, proof of payment and proof of
ownership to our U.S. Division Customer Assistance Center for reimbursement
consideration. If the repair invoice is in a language other than English or
Spanish, you should submit a translation document.
I hope I have answered all your questions and if you should need to contact us
in the future, simply reply to this message or call our Chevrolet Customer
Assistance Center at 1-800-222-1020. Customer Relationship Specialists are
available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet.
